The Tread Softly website has been set up as a grassroots effort to help those who wish to use earth-friendly products share suggestions with each other.

  • Wouldn’t it be great to hear what experience someone who’s used a product you are considering buying for the first time?
  • Maybe you can’t remember the name of a product you saw some time ago.
  • You know of a great product you wish everyone was using.
  • You want to reduce the amount of plastics being dumped into our oceans so you’re seeking products sold in low-impact packaging.

The hope is the easier it is to find this type of information, the more people will choose earth-friendlier items. And in turn, with each of our efforts, we can help heal our planet.

Product websites and store links are provided for your convenience.  Should Tread Softly ever become an affiliate for any product, we will disclose this clearly on the product page.

We will also share related news articles that we believe may be of interest to you as well.

Please share this site with your like-minded friends.  And we welcome any suggestions you have to make this website more useful.

PLEASE SEND US YOUR PRODUCT REVIEWS to publish and share with others via our product review submission page. Include product name, photography, your write up and must contain a rating 1-5 (5 being best).

What’s in a name?

“Tread softly” is being borrowed from W.B. Yeats poem “He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven”, with the thought that we all need to tread softly as we live on our Mother Earth, the source of all our dreams.

Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
