Eco Nuts are dried berries from a tree that grows in the Himalayas. When agitated in water they produce a naturally occulting surfactant called saponin.

Saponin can be used as a soap or detergent which gently cleans and acts as a fabric softener.

Eco Nuts contain no fragrance, laundry detergent or other cleaning chemicals. This is especially nice for anyone with sensitive skin. They also don’t produce a lot of suds yet they clean better than my old laundry detergent. Plus no plastic is used in the packaging.

Eco Nuts are available from Amazon in various forms and under different names. They come with small muslin bags. You put 4-5 nuts in the bag then toss it in the washer. You are supposed to remove it for the rinse cycle but I usually forget; never had a problem.

I’ve been using Eco Nuts for over a year and I love them.
